Type A Swivel Shackle
Shortest Possible Connector from Anchor to Chain
The OLIPORTS Type A Swivel Shackle is specifically designed for direct connection between the anchor shank and the anchor chain. Its opening width and pin diameter are precisely matched to the anchor stock dimensions, enabling a more compact and secure connection.
Compared to traditional anchor chain connection structures, the Type A Swivel Shackle eliminates unnecessary intermediate links, allowing the anchor head to be retrieved more smoothly into the hawse pipe while effectively saving deck space.
This design achieves the “shortest possible connection from anchor to chain,” improving anchoring efficiency and significantly reducing chain twisting during operation.

Key Features of Type A Swivel Shackle
Design Features: It is characterized by one end being larger than the other. The larger end is connected directly to the anchor shank via a pin, while the smaller end is connected to the end of the anchor chain via a rotating mechanism.
Connection method: Anchor -> Type-A swivel shackle -> Chain link. By eliminating the intermediate link, the anchor head can be retracted more tightly into the ship’s hawse pipe.
Full rotation: Rotates freely 360°, completely eliminating the problem of anchor chain tangles
High-Strength Monoblock Forging: The alloy steel body is manufactured using a monoblock forging process, ensuring that the breaking load is perfectly matched to the corresponding anchor chain grade.Materials and Surface Treatment: Forged alloy steel and cast steel components; hot-dip galvanizing available upon customer request.
Looking for swivel shackles that offer greater strength, smoother rotation, or enhanced corrosion resistance? OLIPORTS can provide customized manufacturing solutions tailored to your offshore operating environment.
