Overview of D Type Rubber Fenders
OLIPORTS manufactures and delivers a wide range of marine-grade D type rubber fenders for ship and dock protection. These extruded fenders offer a flat back design for easy installation and come in solid and hollow types.
D Fender Types
OLIPORTS offers D fenders in three standard cross-sectional types:
DD Type Fender
With a D-shaped hollow core. Excellent shock absorption and flexibility. Suitable for both horizontal and vertical mounting.

DC Type Fender
With an . Enhanced energy absorption with lower reaction force. Ideal for lightweight protection.O-shaped (circular) inner chamber

DS Type Fender
Without an inner chamber (Solid profile). Maximized durability and wear resistance. Preferred for heavy-duty workboats and tugboats.

All types come with a flat rear face for simplified bolt-on or strip-on installation. OLIPORTS can deliver custom lengths, beveled ends, pre-drilled holes, and vulcanized corners for curved hull sections.

Mounting Methods for DD Type Rubber Fenders
DD Type rubber fenders from OLIPORTS can be installed in two common ways, depending on the size and application environment of the fender:
Bolt-Through Flat Bar Mounting (Horizontal)
This method is suitable for standard-sized DD fenders:
- The fender is installed using flat steel bars and bolt-through fixing aligned with the molded holes on the fender body.
- Bolts are inserted horizontally through the fender’s core and flat bar, securing it firmly to the dock face.
- Recommended bolt spacing is approximately 150mm apart, ensuring optimal load distribution and vibration resistance.
- This method allows quick replacement and lower-cost installation for smaller vessels and pontoons.
Vertical Bolt-Through Mounting (Heavy-Duty)
This method is designed for larger or heavy-duty D fenders:
- Long bolts are inserted vertically from the top, passing through the center of the fender body and into pre-anchored holes in the quay wall or fender base.
- The vertical anchoring provides enhanced resistance to high-impact forces, especially suitable for tugboats, pilot vessels, and high-traffic ports.
- Washers and nuts are added on the top side to ensure tight fixing and easy maintenance.

Proper anchoring depth, flatness of the quay surface, and fender spacing must be considered during installation. Custom mounting templates and dimension drawings can be provided by OLIPORTS upon request.

Why Choose OLIPORTS Rubber Fenders?
At OLIPORTS, we understand that rubber fenders are not just buffers—they are critical to the safety and efficiency of your port operations. That’s why we take fender engineering seriously—from raw materials to design to global delivery.
Premium Rubber Compounds, Superior Performance
OLIPORTS rubber fenders are made from high-quality natural rubber blended with advanced synthetic rubbers such as Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) and Butadiene Rubber (BR). These compounds offer outstanding mechanical and environmental durability, ensuring excellent reaction force and energy absorption across our D-type fender range:
- Reaction Force (R.F.): From 77 kN (DD100) up to 383 kN (DD500)
- Energy Absorption (E.A.): From 1.4 kNm to 35.9 kNm
Every batch of rubber is tested to meet international material standards, including:
- Tensile Strength / Elongation at Break: GB/T528, ASTM D412, ISO 37 : ≥16Mpa
- Hardness: GB/T531, ASTM D2240, DIN 53505 : ≤ 84 Degree
- Compression Set: GB/T7759, ISO 815, JIS K 6261 : ≤ 30 % ( 70℃, 22h, 25%)
- Tear Resistance: ASTM D624 Die B, BS ISO34-1 : ≥70 kN/m
- Abrasion Resistance: GB/T9867, ISO 4649 : ≤150mm³
- Bond Strength Steel to Rubber: ≥7 kN/m
- Ozone Resistance: No surface cracks (40°C, 48h, 50 pphm at 20%)
All OLIPORTS marine fender products come with full certification from CCS, ABS, BV, DNV-GL, and SGS.
Engineered by Know-How, Not Just Numbers
We don’t just manufacture—we engineer. OLIPORTS brings over a decade of hands-on port equipment experience. We understand the critical parameters that affect fender system selection:
- Ship Information: Deadweight, LOA, displacement, bow radius, hull pressure
- Berth Conditions: Fender spacing, deck level, soffit level, tide range, wind force
- Site Conditions: Water salinity, winter ice presence, climate zones, UV exposure
This allows us to recommend the most suitable fender type, size, and installation system, with full customization options.
Expertise That Cuts Rework and Guesswork
From fender sizing to drawing approval, from sample production to mass delivery—we reduce the trial-and-error. OLIPORTS is known for:
- Reviewing drawings with technical accuracy
- Reducing sample delivery time and rework
- Producing fenders that fit right, perform well, and last long
Every project is handled with attention to detail, to ensure that your fender system performs safely from day one.
